How does a dusk-to-dawn window candle know when to switch on?
A light sensor in the base measures the light falling on it. When it drops below a threshold at dusk the candle switches on; at daylight it switches off. Nobody needs to touch the candle all season.
Why does my sensor window candle not switch on?
Usually because the sensor still sees light: a street lamp, a room light or a lit Christmas tree nearby. Turn the sensor away from the light source, or choose a remote-and-timer window candle for that window.
Sensor, timer or remote: which window candle should a retailer stock?
Stock the sensor version as the easy-use option and a remote-and-timer set for bright rooms. Sets of 6 to 12 cover a typical house front; our sets include candle bases or suction cups.
