Frequently asked questions
How does a dusk-to-dawn window candle work?
A small light sensor in the base reads the ambient light. When it gets dark the candle switches on, and when daylight returns it switches off, so the candle runs only at night without a timer.
Will the sensor work behind curtains or in a lit room?
The sensor needs to see the change in daylight. If the window has heavy curtains or the room is lit all evening, choose a remote-and-timer window candle instead.
What batteries do the window candles use?
Battery type differs by model and is listed on each product page where the factory has published it. Batteries are usually not included in retail sets, so ask us if you want them packed in.
